A movie by N K Deoshi
When collage days are over it's time to think beyond laptops, parties, i-pods and look up into your career. But it’s just not the same for Sid. Basically Sid being a grown-up kid doesn’t want to wake up to the real world around him. A rich dad’s lazy son who thinks life is a party place.
Wake up Sid is a youth oriented movie. It’s the snapshots of life we all go through or have gone through.
When Sid {Ranbir Kapoor} fails in his collage exams he finds himself in a tight spot. Tired of being taunted by his parents, he leaves his house and moves into his close friend Ayeesha”s {Konkona Sen} house. Ayeesha is a Bengali girl who has just moved into Mumbai to become a journalist and to be independent. Now living with Ayeesha, Sid is confronted his harsh unsuccessful reality. He cannot cook, clean and doesn’t have a job. Its time for him to wake up !
Debutant director { Ayan Mukherjee} deserves a round of applause for his strong and different story. He conveyed the message of the story in a beautiful way and his directorial skills are of something to watch.
Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma, two of the best talents in the new crop of actors, live their parts. Ranbir has done a great job of playing a careless and confused youth who doesn’t know anything about his future. On the other hand Konkona has also done a brilliant job playing the part of a 27year old grown up who is independent and planned her future.
Altogether Wake up Sid is a heart-warming and much watch movie.
Rating: 7.1/10
