The Four Favourable directions and their meanings:
Sheng Chi (The breath of Life): The best direction that favors prosperity, vitality, respectability and reputation.
Tien Yi (Heavenly Doctor): The second best direction fosters good health
Yan Nian: The third best direction enhances the quality of relationships in the family.
Fu Wei (overall harmony): This is a good direction for self development and meditation. Good for very young children to face or to sleep with their head (crown) pointing to this direction when they are lying down.
The Four Unfavourable directions and their meanings:
Ho Hai (Obstacles and mishaps): A least harmful but has been known to lead to all kinds of intermittent difficulty and frustration.
Wu Kwei (Five Ghosts): A bad direction that brings quarrel bad luck, fire, loss of income, burglary, fear and insecurity.
Lui Sha (Six Killings): This direction represents separation, scandals, missed opportunities, legal entanglements and illnesses
Chueh Ming (Total loss): This is the most harmful direction and represents total loss, disaster, misfortune, disease and unproductive career.
